Local Governance Committee

Raysfield Primary School is governed by the Local Governance Committee (LGC). The LGC is the accountable body for the primary school and the sets the strategic direction together with the Headteacher and the leadership team. We are a small and committed group of people with a range of skills, backgrounds and experiences who are responsible for making decisions about how the work of the school is run. All LGC boards have certain obligations, legal duties, powers and responsibilities.

The LGC meets four times per year and this includes three longer meetings that take place in school. Our ‘LGC’ in School Days’ help us to understand and experience the work of the school and see the actions of the teaching staff taking place. We use these times to monitor our areas of responsibility by talking with the subject leaders, observing lessons and talking with children.

If you wish to contact the Chair of the LGC (Colin Gould) please email colin.gould@raysfield.org.uk or contact the school office 01454 86 6795 who will pass on your details
